In 2008, my life changed when I was detected with Type 1 diabetes. An autoimmune disease which forced me to start from the bottom,to learn to constantly control my emotions and my diet without which balance and stability were hard to achieve.
I started yoga in 2011 when I noticed that I was breathing from my upper chest and I knew that yoga could help me.
I remember my first class. I felt uncomfortable with the spirituality but it was a blow; I hadn’t realized how stiff I was.
My first approach to yoga was purely physical , it allowed me to be aware of my body. As I deepened my practice, I began to appreciate meditating and having a quieter mind and a smoother breathing.
I couldn’t explain it but I couldn’t stay too long without practicing, something was missing inside me. From that moment on I knew that there was more to yoga than just it’s physical aspect.
Yoga became a passion; a way of life and in a natural progression I began teaching in 2014. Teaching became my way of sharing all these beautiful experiences.
In 2016, after having worked as a graphic designer for 11 years, my work began to make little sense to me and a turning point in my life made me realise the importance of yoga for me and my fascination with the human body, movement and well-being.
All of this led me to continue training in yoga and massage with the goal of bringing a holistic approach to my care of others.
Nevertheless, I still work as a freelance graphic designer. It allows me to keep a physical and emotional (essential) balance in my different activities. And so, be able to do my best in each.
